Seville Community House (SCH) was officially opened in August 1985 after Seville Primary School offered the use of the old Principal’s House as a permanent home for a small group of women meeting socially doing crafts and other activities – later the children’s playgroup formed and it is still an important part of the SCH core function. SCH is governed by a volunteer Committee of Management.
Since those early days Seville Community House has grown in the range of programs offered, with programs for children, young people, adults and seniors.
One of the features of any Community House is the very strong commitment to, and philosophy of community development. This is reflected in the Seville Community House mission and vision statements:
• Seville Community House aims to provide a warm, friendly, supportive and welcoming atmosphere.
Seville Community House aims to provide to the whole Community a place to come together to enrich their lives through activities for adults and children.
Our aim is to meet the needs of all members of our local community by providing social networks and by planning affordable classes & activities to suit all age groups. SCH will always offer a friendly, supportive and welcoming atmosphere.
By providing a supportive network for members of the community we hope to encourage the sharing of skills & knowledge while engendering community involvement & awareness
